They use machine learning powered technologies, such as Chat GPT or Computer vision that can get machines to do things that only humans could do before.

In 1956, the concept of artificial intelligence was first used. With the spread of data values, advanced algorithms and computer power and storage, this concept also gained popularity nowadays. In the 1960s, the US Department of Defense prioritised this type of work and trained computers to mimic human thinking.

There are many Hollywood movies and science fiction novels that compare artificial intelligence to modern man-made robots. It is the most modern and comprehensive example of artificial intelligence.


Whenever we study or research artificial intelligence, two words come to mind: Weak AI. Strong AI or Strong Artificial Intelligence (AI) is said to be the part of artificial intelligence that can think like a human being in general. In other words, they can be called Artificial general intelligence.


Weak AI, on the other hand, is a subtle form of artificial intelligence such as machine learning or deep learning that can perform specific tasks. For example, playing chess or singing or helping to drive. which is called Artificial narrow Intelligence (ANI). This type of artificial intelligence is used in everyday tasks.

In general, we use four types of artificial intelligence. such as

Reactive machines

It is the most basic form of artificial intelligence. Such machines are designed so that they do not give any knowledge about previous events – instead they will react to previous events. For example - chess machines; They can only do that with their limitations. They cannot be used for any other purpose.


Low memory (Limited memory) machines


limited memory Machines have less understanding of past events. For example, self-driving cars are examples of machines that we use to control the speed of a car. But they have no knowledge of other things in the world, because their memory is limited and they can be used for a while.


Theory of Mind Machines

The machines that represent the Theory of mind machine are the earliest forms of artificial intelligence.

Self-aware machines

Such machines are theoretically the most advanced artificial intelligence, with complete knowledge of themselves as well as others in the world. It is also commonly referred to as AGI (Artificial general intelligence).

Health Sector

AI is also widely used in the health sector. For example, AI is used in the treatment of specific diseases using artificial intelligence to diagnose diseases, epidemics, etc.

Agricultural sector

Artificial intelligence is also widely used in agriculture. Artificial intelligence helps in solving various problems properly. Artificial intelligence has the power to help farmers in crop production, crop pricing predictions and timely advisors.

Retail use

Artificial intelligence also helps in the retail sector. It helps in three areas - image based searches, personalized suggestions, preference based browsing.


Artificial intelligence also helps us in transportation and manufacturing. It also provides assistance in smart cities, energy, education and strategic education, intelligence and defence. By 2027, the artificial intelligence market is estimated to reach $71.0 billion. However, India lags far behind China or the United States in this practice. The reason for this is


  1. Low acceptability and high production costs.
  2.  Tendency to under-research.
  3. Gaps in strategic skills and so on.


Although the future of artificial intelligence is still in doubt, it also has some limitations. For example, bias and it makes people unemployed.


However, India is lagging behind many other countries in terms of artificial intelligence. We can take several approaches – through which we can strengthen the use of Artificial Intelligence in India.
